![]() ![]() We are currently testing HQPlayer Server Embedded 4.30 and HQPlayer NAA 4.1.3, on our latest AMS suite, to address this change in Roon Server.įrom some of the chat we see on the internet, and receive from customers, it seems we need to explain why do we do this testing.Īntipodes music servers are a fully integrated suite of applications that simplifies the setup and update of software and optimises the performance of each application that our customers use. ![]() I'm doing this because sharing is nice and being at home is getting boring.Roon Labs has announced that, as of Monday 28 February, customers using HQPlayer as the Player app for Roon Server, will need to upgrade HQPlayer Server Embedded to 4.29.3 or later. ![]() However, you can always download a free trial to try out Roon and its integration with HQPlayer.ītw I'm not paid by anyone of them just a satisfied user of theses software I have. Roon is better for its network features and integration. For Roon itself, compared to Foobar or Audirvana, the sound difference isn't that much, sometimes to justify its high price. HQPlayer, compared to Roon, has better upsampling algorithm. HQPlayer is an offline player with no Tidal or Qobuz integration, but it allows the music from Roon to be played over to HQPlayer. I could also use my Android mobile phone to control it so it becomes a remote control. I can run Roon on my computer and control what songs to play while having it played on my Android DAP or Apple TV. The next feature is that Roon, with it being installed on my Android Digital Audio Player and with Apple TV outside connected to a HiFi system. In fact, I had Audirvana, and I preferred Roon. I'm able to perform upsampling to DSD or higher PCM rate. Roon allows for integration with Tidal and Qobuz. I personally think so and by a large margin. ![]()
